Our Estate Planning Process is Simple
1. We start with a quick intro call via Zoom (20–30 minutes) to learn a bit about your goal, answer initial questions and review the pricing for services. After our call, you’ll receive a secure client intake form that helps gather the most important names and information like dates, to better evaluate your needs.
For most clients, it’s a four step process.
2. Within a few weeks (or based on your schedule), you will have a “design meeting” in person or via Zoom (about 60 minutes) with your attorney where you will walk through your goals in detail. Using your intake form and initial conversation to gather the information needed to structure your trust (for example: trustees/successors, beneficiaries, guardians if applicable, and how you want assets handled).
3.You approve your design choices and your estate plan is drafted. This gives you the opportunity to double-check or make any changes before the final signing step.
4. Review your estate plan at an in person signing meeting (about 60 minutes) with all executing parties for a wet signature as legally required. You will also provide clear guidance on funding the trust (retitling assets so the plan works as intended).
Your final product will include a physical binder with your original signed documents (use for courts), a summary of the important takeaways, a digital version on a thumb drive and resources and tools to help you understand use of all documents.
One more step we strongly recommend: share your plan with your executors and beneficiaries so everyone knows their role.
5. Inform your family and executors and beneficiaries once you have everything completed so everyone knows their roles and what to expect.
